About Ryan Wenstrom

With a background in finance and a diverse range of experiences, I am dedicated to committing myself and achieving success at every level. As a 4th-year Business Administration student concentrating in finance at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I am honing my real-world skills through the university\'s \"Learn By Doing\" motto. Through my rigorous coursework in advanced corporate finance, computer applications in finance, economics, statistics and econometrics, I have developed a solid foundation of knowledge while also achieving a GPA of 3.91. Most recently, I had the opportunity to work for LPL Financial in San Diego, CA as an intern on the Strategic Accounts team. In this role, I concentrated on data analytics and project management to support the relationship management team with the resources needed to drive strategic decision-making. My responsibilities included cleansing and visualizing data, automating workflows, leading team meetings, and delivering a Capstone presentation at the end of the internship. I gained invaluable experience through collaborating with our team of professionals and applying my skills at an industry-leading level. I have also been fortunate enough to enhance my experiences by working overseas in Sydney, Australia. A part-time internship at Aura Group in the central business district of Sydney contributed to my skills in financial forecasting, market research, and strategic collaboration. On the days not spent at Aura Group, I directed a team of three laborers at Labour Revolution. This position allowed me to further develop and hone my skills in project management, issue resolution, and client relations. Outside of work, I am deeply passionate about giving back to my community through volunteering. As a team leader at Boys Team Charity in my hometown of Granite Bay, California, I organized team events for our organization. These team-building events were coupled with enhancing my community through volunteering more than 125 hours at local organizations including food banks and animal shelters. Throughout my academic journey, I have demonstrated leadership and involvement, notably as the Captain and Treasurer of the Cal Poly Rugby Team. Leading a nationally ranked team of athletes as we compete against the best competition in American collegiate rugby has been a vastly challenging and rewarding experience. It, along with my involvement in the Real Estate Club and the fraternity Delta Upsilon, has compelled me to assume greater responsibility and embrace opportunities for personal and professional growth.
