About Ryan Miller

I am a Professor at Kent State University, where I am faculty in the graduate and undergraduate programs in Teaching English as a Second Language. I mainly teach courses in second language acquisition, language teaching methods, and second language literacy development. Before earning my PhD in Second Language Acquisition and MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), I taught English in a variety of contexts in Japan, including public K-12 schools, universities, and adult education and non-profit organizations. My research investigates development of second language literacy skills, English for specific purposes, and language teacher education.
