Facilitate an environment that allows our Paramedics and EMTs, who respond to over annual requests for assistance, to feel and know they are supported as they provide prompt, compassionate, and clinically excellent care. Act as an incident commander, or in any other role necessary to manage emergencies using the national incident management system, regardless of incident scale. Entrusted to employ substantial discretion in making high-consequence, value-based decisions with imperfect information and limited time for analysis. Additionally, partner with other organizational leaders to plan, specify, implement, and evaluate projects and long-term plans for responding to population growth, technological advances, changes in the regulatory environment, and evolution of the public safety workforce. Daily, responsible for the success of seven emergency response units, deployed from five stations. In the role of relief Shift Commander, responsible for the successful operation of over 40 response units serving a population of over 1 million people dispersed over greater than 850 square miles. This role allows for substantial cooperation with members of the field leadership and elected and appointed public safety chiefs of the 12 municipalities that comprise Wake County.
