The Town Board is the legislative and policy-making body of the Town. It is comprised of six elected members and the Town Supervisor, all of whom serve two-year terms. The town has six wards and one board member represents each ward. Collectively, the Town Board enacts local laws and ordinances, adopts the Town Budget, awards contracts, sets policies, and appoints various boards and commissions, including, but not limited to, the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Assessment Review, Historical Preservation Committee, Fire Advisory Committee, and Conservation Advisory Committee. Board members serve as liaisons to various volunteer committees and report to the full board on their activities.
