About Ryan Martin

Ryan Martin, Senior Research Director at ABI Research, leads the firm\'s Industrial & Manufacturing practice spanning I&M Technologies, I&M Markets, Smart Buildings, Smart Energy. His research focuses on new and emerging transformative technologies driving Digital Transformation and Industry 5.0, including AI, product lifecycle innovation, and future automation paradigms. He leads and is involved in the most strategic and impactful client projects with team expertise that spans product design and engineering through manufacturing and service excellence. Prior to joining ABI Research, Ryan spent several years at technology market research firms, including Yankee Group and 451 Research (acquired by S&P Global). Before his time as a market research analyst, Ryan served as a consultant at Mobile Future Institute, a U.S-based think tank focused on business strategies and marketing tactics for the mobile ecosystem. He has also held advisory, consultative, and managerial positions at early- to late-stage startups. Ryan is frequently quoted and published in a variety of industry and business media, including BBC, CIO, and Forbes. He is also a regular speaker at client and industry events, and a judge for major awards programs such as the CES Innovation Awards and the GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards. Ryan holds degrees in economics and political science, with an additional concentration in global studies, from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from the University of New Hampshire.
