About Ryan Barnett
Hi, I am Ryan Barnett, a Senior at the University of Oklahoma, pursuing a double major in Economics and International Studies with a minor in Spanish. My academic interests lie in understanding the processes of institutions that best enable them to execute their respective goals, missions, and policies. As the Chief Justice of the Interfraternity Council, I have developed a governance model to adjudicate conduct in the IFC community, interpreted the IFC Constitution, the Judicial Code, and University policies, and led judicial proceedings for the council. I have also served as a Representative and the Vice-Chair of External Affairs for the Student Government Association, representing over students and helping allocate $4.5 million in student activity fees annually. Outside the campus, I have gained valuable experience in policy research, public service, and community engagement through various internships and volunteer opportunities. I have collaborated with Representative John Waldron in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, assisted in the re-election campaign of Governor Kevin Stitt as a Research Intern, supported the Tulsa RiverParks Authority as a Community Engagement Manager through the George Kaiser Family Foundation\'s Summer Impact Program, and volunteered as a College Legislative Volunteer for the YMCA\'s Youth and Government program. My fervent drive for leadership, public service, and problem-solving is at the heart of everything I do. I remain dedicated to positive social change and aspire to pursue a career in public service and community development.
