About Ryan Smith
I’m a creative design professional with active licenses in the District of Columbia and Georgia. I have strong food & beverage, hospitality, adaptive reuse, retail tenant fit-out and multi-family experience.Currently I am project manager with PGN Architects. At PGN we focus largely on adaptive reuse, mixed-use, multi-family and affordable housing project types. My project types have ranged from a 12-story luxury affordable housing, a 57 unit hospitality conversion from class B office, to a sf mixed-use and affordable housing. Within my projects I serve as the primary point of contact for clients/owners, stakeholders and project consultants. At The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry I served as a Project Manager. The majority of projects at the The Johnson Studio are in the niche market of food & beverage hospitality venues. We focused on creating unique design heavy environments that enhance the dining and beverage experience. My projects included a square feet restaurant and bar for a hotel & resort, stand alone restaurant group driven venues, a boutique hotel rooftop patio & bar, hotel lobbies, café’s and even a food service kiosk.Clients and brands I have worked with include AC Hotels/Marriott, Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, Douglas Development Corporation, Fifth Group Restaurants, Rumi’s Kitchen, Concessions International, The Plaza Hotel El Paso, MGM, Kerzner International, Emaar Properties, OTO Development, St. Joe Club, Stormont Hospitality Group, Disney, and Mom’s Organic Market. My tenure with Antunovich Associates afforded me the opportunity to gain experience in developer driven projects ranging from the 300 unit multi-family adaptive reuse of the Historic Hecht Warehouse, which also includes square feet of retail, a mixed-use parking facility with square feet of retail and 1,100 parking spaces. While at the hospitality firm WATG I worked on the 1,500 key Atlantis the Palm Dubai Hotel and Resort and a 250 key Resort and Casino in the Alexander Valley of Northern California. These various positions through the course of my career has allowed me to gain experience within the food & beverage, hospitality, adaptive reuse, historic preservation, multi-family/mixed-use, retail and commercial and market sectorsSpecialties: Food & Beverage Venues, Hospitality, Adaptive Reuse, Mixed-Use, Adaptive Reuse, Multi-Family, Affordable Housing and Historic Preservation
