ABOUT RYAN WHITCOMB
Ryan Whitcomb, CAS, MA, M.Ed, is an energetic and enthusiastic educational professional that possesses strong knowledge and expertise in a wide-variety of instructional methods. He began his educational career in 2013, completing an internship for a special education cooperative in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. He later went on to work as a teacher assistant, crisis and behavioral interventionist, instructional technologist, Director of Data, Assessment and Public Relations, Teacher, Special Education Teacher (Learning Behavior Specialist), Program Case Manager, and Special Education Administrator in a variety of different special education cooperatives and school districts. Ryan completed his undergraduate degree in Education with a minor in Psychology in 2017; his Master’s in Special Education (with a minor in English as a Second Language) in 2020; his Master’s in Educational Technology in 2021; and has completed the necessary coursework for his administrative and Director of Special Education endorsement. He believes in the success of each and every child and demonstrates a sincere passion for his work as a special educator. His passion has allowed him to work with students with a diverse range of abilities, while also serving on various committees and teams (including, but not limited to: PBIS and MTSS; data, assessment and research; instructional technology; district leadership; and, data, research and school improvement committees). He has also served as the team leader of a crisis behavior intervention and response team in a therapeutic school. Each experience has empowered Ryan to share his knowledge and expertise with diverse educational teams. He has also provided several professional development opportunities for educators in different areas, building professional capacity and understanding of how to effectively work with students with diverse abilities. Lastly, Ryan’s commitment to serve has led to recognition and a variety of different awards for his dedication to service.
