Providing Educational and Training Opportunities to MD Anderson\'s 550 Postdoctoral Fellows and additional trainees.Develop professional and research skills training:• Enhance research, professional, and communication skills of MDA postdoc through developing courses like Advanced Research Tools and Cores Seminar Series, Responsible Conduct of Research, College Teaching Academy, Grant Spotlight Series, Fellowship Development Institute, Navigating Academic Careers, and Career Exploration Series.• Providing additional opportunities for training and postdoc community: National Postdoc Appreciation Week, Trainee Grant Incentive, Trainee Research Day, Postdoc Mixers, Postdoc Networking Coffee Breaks.Provide Career Development, Career Advising, and Evaluation:• Offer career development seminars, one-on-one career advising, and communicate job/internship/shadowing opportunities for smooth postdoc career transitions.• Oversee the Annual Postdoc Evaluation, serving as a performance review system with mentor participation.Communicate Training Opportunities, Institutional Policies, and Additional Resources:• Inform trainees about training opportunities, policies, and resources via a weekly Trainee News Bulletin, Quarterly Postdoc Town Halls, website updates, Outlook, institutional calendars, Microsoft Teams, Research Town Hall, and 1:1 communication (email, Zoom, in-person).Participate in Postdoctoral Recruitment Initiatives:• Network with prospective postdocs and communicate available opportunities and benefits.• Engage with prospective postdocs at scientific meetings (AACR, SITC) and a virtual postdoc recruitment event in Houston (Postdoc Houston).Advise and Collaborate with the MD Anderson Postdoctoral Association:• Serve as the Ex Officio/Advisory member of the MDA Postdoctoral Association.• Collaborate with the Postdoctoral Association Executive Committee to synergize professional and career development initiatives and build postdoc community.
