I\'m a primary development engineer at Ethicon Endo-Surgery in Cincinnati, OH. I\'ve been working at Ethicon since July 2018 after graduating from the University of Cincinnati with my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. As a student at the University of Cincinnati, I completed five co-op rotations with Siemens Industry Inc.(2 semesters) and GE Aviation (3 semesters).I completed four rotations through the Engineering Development Program at Ethicon, allowing me to further develop my engineering skills in manufacturing and design, while being exposed to leadership opportunities and learning about the medical device industry. The roles I held included equipment development engineer, Life Cycle design engineer, component development engineer, and Product Management development engineer, and I had the opportunity to work in both the Energy and Endo-mech franchises.I served as the Product Focus Team Lead for the Trocar & Other Endo portfolio in our Endo-mechanical Life Cycle group. I ensured device production isn\'t interrupted due to material shortages or equipment failures by managing projects with suppliers, my team\'s Design and Quality engineers, and partners at the manufacturing plants. Additionally, I lead projects related to material obsolescence, component price changes, and product discontinuations, among others, which impact our devices currently in the market and the customers who rely on them. For my current role, I transitioned to become the Product Focus Team Lead for the Enseal with Probe portfolio in our Energy Life Cycle group, where I have many of the same responsibilities in addition to collaborating with New Product Development partners as we transfer stabilized products to Life Cycle ownership.
