My expertise, experience and practice encompass a broad spectrum of complex corporate and commercial litigation matters, large and small, across a range of businesses, industries and issues. I am deeply rooted in Calgary and its business community and understand the culture and workings of doing business in Calgary.I have extensive experience in fraud and misappropriation claims, including extraordinary remedies and injunctions. My construction litigation experience includes all aspects of Builders\' Liens, caveats, and certificates of lis pendens, as well as investigations, construction financing, completion and performance disputes, and contractor malfeasance. In litigating oil and gas matters, I’m able to capitalize on my working knowledge and industry experience gained through years as a geophysical technical service consultant. In regards to employment law, being a litigator first as well as a lawyer, I know how to avoid potential legal issues as well as how to best protect against and address litigation issues should they arise.I have successfully appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and British Columbia, the Federal Court of Canada and in response to application for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. I have also acted as counsel, in respect of claims and allegations made in the context of professional disciplinary tribunals and statutory bodies including the Alberta Securities Commission and the Real Estate Council of Alberta.My motivation and business philosophy are grounded in getting the best legal outcomes for my clients, which means achieving the right practical solutions for my clients, not the best opportunity for me.
