Lead interactive administrative law trainings on complying with the city’s campaign finance, governmental ethics, and lobbying ordinance requirements for candidate and ballot measure committees, treasurers, political attorneys, fifteen hundred elected, appointed, and non-elected officials, and lobbyists.In addition to unique ethics and campaign ordinance requirements, my trainings also incorporate the state’s Political Reform Act (California Government Code public contracting statutes (Government Code §§10•••••75), and Fair Political Practices Commission regulations 18••••••98.Issue verbal and written advice to the mayor/staff, councilmembers/staff, city attorney/staff attorneys, over 1,500 city staff, all city departments, commissions, and agencies, campaign committees, candidates, treasurers, donors, political attorneys, and lobbyists on applicable administrative laws.Decipher the interplay between nuanced bodies of law; simplify the language of applicable city ordinance provision, PRA and public contracting statute, and/or FPPC regulation; and educate a diverse audience of varying levels of sophistication in order to conform future conduct with legal requirements. Author legislative amendments to the city’s campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying ordinances, as well as memoranda to ethics commissioners detailing amendment rationales of internal and external impacts.Present at annual California Political Treasurers Association conference on unique San Diego Municipal Code campaign finance reporting requirements and prohibitions in citywide and council district elections.Monitor external impacts of FPPC meetings, committee meetings, advice letters, opinions, executive staff reports, memoranda, pending State Legislature bills, and State Attorney General opinions on the city’s campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying ordinances, all website content, and online ethics trainings.
