Responsible for the development, implementation and periodic measurement of Beedie’s Health and Safety program- Promoting compliance with sound safety practices and encouraging full participation in company initiatives- Recommending beneficial initiatives to Senior and Executive Management- Maintaining an effective system for measuring supervisor and contractor safety performance- Implementing H&S systems of accountability to ensure Beedie standards are being achieved- Developing H&S guidelines for project, material, and operational inspections- Ensuring H&S audits are conducted as required and results are reported to Senior Management- Contributing expertise to and providing oversight on, investigations of incidents, as applicable- Reporting all significant incidents to Senior Management- Monitoring injured employee claims and ensuring claims have been managed in a timely and responsible manner- Preparing monthly safety performance statistics and circulating them to Senior Management- Working with Human Resources personnel for recruiting and evaluating safety personnel for all Beedie projects- Participating in and maintaining membership in industry-wide committees and associations relating to H&S where deemed beneficial to Beedie- Maintaining COR certification for Beedie- Demonstrate visible and professional H&S leadership at all times.
