ABOUT RYAN HORSTMAN

I am an experienced ecological/environmental project manager with a broad range of experience and knowledge. I have experience providing ecological support services as well as project management for small and large-scale development projects including wetland delineation, listed species surveys, site assessments, habitat classification and characterization, and impact permitting. I also have experience in wetland mitigation design and compliance.I am experienced and knowledgable in the realm of coastal ecology having worked on multiple projects involving seagrass and mangrove impacts in Florida and Jamaica. I was a key collaborator on the design and implementation of a 6+ acre seagrass transplanting project for the Falmouth Cruis Port in Falmouth, Jamaica. I was the project manager for a seagrass and mangrove impact assessment and restoration plan development project in Rocky Point, Clarendon, Jamaica. The restoration plan includes multiple acres of seagrass restoration through conversion of a dredge hole and restoration of hundreds of acres of hurricane and development impacted mangroves. I am also an ISA Certified Arborist specializing in hazard assessment and tree evaluations prior to development.In addition, I have considerable experience utilizing GIS for cartography and analysis. I am very knowledgable in the use and application of submeter Trimble GPS systems for data collection and assessment.I have experience assessing highway, rail, and airport noise in accordance with the FHWA and FDOT. I am also experienced in the environmental aspects of highway PD & E projects, from data collection to report generation.Specialties: Wetland delineation, assessment, mitigation, and compliance.Listed species assessment and permitting.Coastal ecology, primarily oyster bar, seagrass, and mangrove habitats.Local, state, and federal permitting.
