Maritime lawyer representing owners, charterers and underwriters of oceangoing cargo ships in all manner of legal proceedings, emergency response, and interface with Port State Control authorities. Former seagoing engineer on general cargo ships, product tankers, container ships, bulk carriers, and pure car/truck carriers. On-call 24/7 to investigate and protect vessel interests in connection with casualties such as machinery failure, groundings, collisions, off-spec liquid cargoes, dry cargo claims, pollution incidents, dock damage, personal injuries to longshoremen and crew, as well as to provide immediate response in MARPOL criminal defense matters. Experience executing and defending arrests of vessels and bunkers and handling the review and negotiation of charter parties. Apart from maritime matters, practicing general litigation involving construction defects, contracts, and product liability. Previously sailed as a licensed engineer in the U.S. and foreign flag merchant marine, and then worked in the design and performance testing of marine propulsion plants.
