In my position I cover the East/Northeast territory for Avantes\' lines of miniature fiber-optic based instrumentation with a customer base ranging from industry, education, and government. I have the following day-to-day activities: Update sales/marketing teams with the competitions’ offerings (new products, technology, companies, pricing). Prepare product sales quotation and follow-up; recommendations for product configurations to satisfy customer\'s measurement requirements. Test and interpret lab results and analyzed data to determine best configuration for customer based on application and budget. Recommend solutions to known hardware/software problems to customers and found answers of unknown issues through communication with software team in an effort to improve product performance. Utilized advanced lab techniques such as Fluorescence, NIR Spectroscopy, and LIBS to gain diverse, hands-on knowledge of instrumentation and new market potential. Developed creative sales strategies to boost the company’s sales. Maintained excellent customer relationships by use of interpersonal style and communication methods. Researched new international representatives to distribute product line.
