R&D Consultant with several years of experience acting as the primary interface with business leaders for a range of science and technology-led industries submitting R&D tax relief claims under both SME & RDEC schemes. Responsible for the correct qualification and classification of R&D activities against HMRC guidelines and CIRD manuals, collation and analysation of corresponding qualifying R&D expenditure and writing of detailed technical reports to concisely and accurately communicate the satisfaction of the R&D defining criteria. Key activities and responsibilities include:(1) Conducting face-to-face and virtual consultations with key clients and those with complex circumstances to identify qualifying R&D activity, and determining critical technical detail to be showcased in the high-quality technical reports submitted to HMRC.(2) Developing strong and mutually productive relationships with business leaders and competent professionals across all science and technology-led sectors to maintain client engagement to reduce submission times while maximising benefit amounts. Helping generate millions of pounds of benefit for clients.(3) Informing clients about HMRC relief scheme guidelines and helping educate clients on opportunities to significantly improve R&D management strategies for future claims.(4) Providing a thorough and communicable knowledge regarding qualifiable costs, qualifying criteria, and maximising claim benefit to clients.(5) Helping to produce learning resources for new starters and delivery of technical up-skilling sessions for consultants, colleagues in adjacent departments, and collaborating partners.
