The White Horse Soapbox - Developing the toughest, steepest Soapbox Race in the UK and creating the South West’s most important Engineering Event. We’re bringing together Engineering Industry partners with local schools, showing a clear path from project build to apprenticeship and further education. • Abraham’s Kitchen – A free-to-all Community Meal made using surplus food from local supermarkets, restaurants and shops. A professional cook will be preparing the meal along with two volunteer Sous Chefs, both of which will be earning Food Hygiene Certificates. We are catering for 60 people at each event, running in the school holidays, when a disproportionate amount of young people in the community go without hot meals. • Chilli Fest with Extra Cheese – Wiltshire Chilli Farm will be providing the Chillis in Spring, with locals challenged to grow the plants and offer up their best Chilli Con Carne in the Autumn. A Chilli eating contest will run while the Red Hot Chilli Pepper cover band plays in the background. This spicy community event will be blessed with a global cheese partner and plenty of local artisans. • Men’s Group – Every Monday from 7pm-9pm, offering men the chance to play a very funny board game, have a coffee and chat. • Community Art Group – A support group running every Tuesday, welcoming anyone in the community who feels isolation, lonely or fancies expressing themselves through art. • SEN Cinema – A monthly cinema evening for local young people with special education needs. The young people choose the films, while the parents sit next door enjoying a cup of coffee and cake. • Posh Do – A monthly ‘Posh Do’ for people of a finer vintage. Posh frocks, tea stands and dancing for those that know about the finer things in life. Linking up with a leading care home provider.
