Responsibilities - Lead, direct and review the work of direct reports to achieve operational or functional targets or objectives with measurable contribution towards the achievement of immediate and short-term results for the team and department - Lead month, quarter- and year-end close processes, providing overall process leadership, communication and reporting across the team and department - Review and analyze financial transactions and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, SOX controls and other legal, regulatory and/or company policies and procedures as applicable - Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement internal accounting processes and controls meet new accounting standards, identify and recommend process improvements or system enhancements and assess audit risks - Provide technical guidance and consultation on various accounting activities such as account reconciliation, revenue recognition, new accounting standards and other unique or complex transactions - Support internal and external audits, including oversight of deliverables and facilitating audit interactions that successfully demonstrate audit objectives - Establish and communicate team goals that support and advance team and department objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress - Understand and explain policies, practices and procedures within immediate area of responsibility to stakeholders within and outside of the team - Identify, propose and lead team- and department-level quality and process improvement initiatives; participate and provide input on strategic initiatives at the department-level - Deliver consistent and timely training, guidance and feedback to encourage and promote associate success and growth through regular developmental conversations and identification of developmental opportunities - Provide primary input and recommendations on staffing and performance decisions for direct reports
