Leading a team of seven people, from Senior Engineers to Apprenticeso Accountable for delivery of the team\'s overall schemes programme o Responsible for quality of the team\'s output including compliance with relevant Amey and National Highways procedures and standards.o Resource allocation for the team including assignment of work based on skills and expertise. o Development of the team including preparation of development plans and holding regular career appraisal meetingso People management including timesheets, annual leave, sickness, problem-solving and general team management.• Providing technical guidance and support on engineering and project decision making across the whole Structures portfolio. This covers a variety of schemes including optioneering, de-tailed design and construction support.• Acting as check and approver for schemes and as a signatory under relevant documents in accordance with CG300.• Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the client, internal teams within Amey and other stakeholders. Keeping open and transparent communication channels with Amey Design Manager and Project Manager.• Ensuring that technical scope of projects is clear with the client and conveying this to the team.• Quoting for new work and addressing any changes in scope on projects in accordance with NEC4 contract. Assisting the programme project manager in identifying any risks associated with projects.• Conducting appropriate forecasting of team workload to provide assurance for programmes and maintain a proficient level of team utilisation.• Acting as an ICE approved SCE and mentor for multiple apprentices and graduates and supporting later career professionals preparing for professional review.
