About Ryan Baham

My path into data, construction process management, business analysis has been a long, meandering one. My early education (a BA in anthropology, a second in religious studies, and a Master’s in Public Administration) is a bit atypical for many of my previous roles (business analyst, data analyst, process consultant, procurement analyst/buyer), but those programs prepared me to see big pictures. They taught me to systematically think inside structures, paradigms, and systems, to be creative and thoughtful, and to think way outside of the box.My academic background and professional career are both characterized by substantial research, development of business and professional relationships for collaborative projects, intense analysis, consultation, critical thinking, tough problem solving, hard efforts to win buy-in, and negotiation and rethinking, and thought leadership. My strengths tend toward listening and reading comprehension, planning and organization, written communication, content generation and editing, coaching, development, collaboration, and delegation. Professional certifications and ad-hoc business courses in things like Lean Six Sigma, 3D Printing, Generative AI, Python basics, and various aspects of Construction Project Management have helped me focus and apply much of my earlier broader education toward more specific aspects of my career, but I still volunteer in areas like public policy, advocacy, and urban planning, for example by chairing the Downtown Community Planning Council\'s Community Plan Update Subcommittee.My most recent years have seen a move away from abstract social science and theory and more toward applied sciences like urban planning, manufacturing, construction, advanced technologies, economics, and business, as evidenced by both my volunteer and career trajectory as well as some of my favorite leisure reads below:Integrating Seaports and Trade Corridors - Hall, MCalla, Comtois, and SlackSustainable Urbanism - D.
