About Rachel Sweeney

I am a DevOps professional and leader with a unique mix of technical ability and advanced interpersonal skills. I recently joined Built Technologies where I’m the tech lead for the migration to Kubernetes. Prior to Built I was a Tech Lead and SRE at Kubernetes SaaS/service provider Fairwinds where I led an SRE team supporting clients K8s infrastructure with the SaaS platform.I am driven by deep intellectual curiosity and a personal goal for continuous improvement and growth. As a leader I strive to build meaningful relationships and foster cultures that value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and open communication. Over the past three years I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge as a speaker and panelist at various conferences and events for DevOps Days Philly, Container Journal, DevOps.com, and more. I also wrote a chapter for the O’Reilly title “97 Things Every Cloud Engineer Should Know: Collective Wisdom from the Experts”. In addition to my experience, I earned my degree from University of South Carolina. I have traveled to over 30 countries, and my travel experience includes time as a scuba rescue diver in Mozambique and an English teacher at an orphanage in Uganda.
