He is a past president of the All India Ophthalmological Society and is a pioneer in phacoemulsification and oculoplastic surgery. He established the first centre at West Patel Nagar, New Delhi in the year 1996. The success of the centre necessitated the launch of the next centre that was located at Siri Fort Road, in the heart of South Delhi.
