ABOUT RICHARD WHITBREAD

I am a Senior Technical Writer and Business Analyst with extensive expertise in the design, creation, and maintenance of system, end user, training, IT infrastructure, business analysis, and system implementation documentation for both private sector and government clients. I am an expert in the use of the Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, WordPerfect documentation suites, and fully versed in the use Visio, Core, AutoCAD and Photoshop graphic production suites. Throughout my twenty-one year career in the technical writing field, I have created published material for such clients as General Electric, the Communications Security Establishment, Canadian International Development Agency, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, Health Canada, Statistics Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada, The Bank of Canada, Alcatel, Nortel Networks, the Department of National Defense and Transport Canada. I am very adept at determining documentation requirements, creating documentation plans and methodologies, and in developing and editing written copy and artwork content required to produce my deliverables. I possess excellent communication, interpersonal skills, interviewing, writing, oral communication skills, am detailed oriented, and can present my subject matter in a comprehensive and efficient manner. I also have a keen interest in photography and volunteer with a local photo club as the club’s studio manager, in which I manage the day-to-day studio rentals, maintain the studio lighting equipment and mentor a staff of three interns. I am also a part time photography instructor teaching studio photography and lighting concepts to club members.
