About Rutvij Thakkar
I am a driven Economics transfer student starting at Claremont McKenna College this fall, having attended UT Austin\'s McCombs School of Business as a finance and international relations major prior. I\'m also an enlisted United States Air Force Reserve Airman. As a part of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), I plan to apply my military experience to my studies and future career plans. I\'m seeking the crossroads between commerce and governments on a global scale. Specifically, I am interested in research applied to buy-side global macro-finance. For my long-term military career, I plan on pursuing an Army commission as a Civil Affairs/Intelligence officer, 38A. I believe my combination of quantitative analysis, strategic planning, and athletic capability will establish a strong foundation as a future Army officer in the USAR/USACAPOC. As a self-starter, I always seek new opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge. I am currently involved in multiple initiatives to publicize my perspectives and research. I\'m confident that my distinctive experiences and resultant insights will continue to make me a valuable asset to any organization. In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy rowing, lifting, and basketball. I also make time for personal growth by listening to podcasts and reading books on a wide range of topics ranging from neurobiology to ancient history.
