As a Gemstone Laboratory Head at Vaibhav Global Limited (VGL), I worked hands-on with colored gemstones, gaining expertise in testing, grading, and identification. My responsibilities included distinguishing natural from synthetic stones, detecting treatments, and conducting projects such as heat treatment of Zircons and stability testing in Sapphires.I supported the grading and sorting of both rough and polished gemstones, and collaborated on cut innovations to align with market demand. I also worked with the U.S. channel team to build sales narratives for slow-moving gemstones, combining gemological precision with commercial strategy.Beyond technical work, I conducted training sessions for management trainees and employees from other departments, sharing knowledge of colored stones and the 4Cs. I also contributed to coordinating gemstone events, working across purchase, grading, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.This role allowed me to strengthen my technical gemology expertise while also developing skills in supplier relations, market positioning, and cross-team collaboration - bridging the gap between gemstone science and business strategy.
