Dr. Rutooj Deshpande is a seasoned battery scientist, entrepreneur, and academic, with over 17 years of experience in battery research, design, and engineering for vehicle electrification and energy storage systems. He is the founder of GoVidyouth Mobility Pvt. Ltd. and Simlionics Pvt. Ltd, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Mumbai.Dr. Deshpande has worked with leading global organizations including Ford, General Motors, Sterling and Wilson, and Rivian, where he played a pivotal role in battery development programs for vehicles such as the Rivian R1T and R1S, Ford Fusion PHEVs, and the Ford Mach-E.His core expertise lies in battery physics-based modeling, which he leverages to design high-performance batteries and develop intelligent battery control strategies. He is a trusted advisor to several startups and academic institutions in the fields of battery research, simulation, and control algorithm development.Dr. Deshpande holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Kentucky and conducted his postdoctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), focusing on advanced lithium-ion battery systems.
