WORK HISTORY
Managing Director @Farscape Development
Farscape Development is a Learning and Development company We’re known for delivering measureable results through high impact and memorable Learning Experiences. Our training is behavioural – about people, not process - and we specialise in leadership development and talent development. We currently work with companies such as Airbus, Allianz Insurance, Aviva, Reckitt Benckiser and Disney delivering a variety of different long-term learning and development programmes. We’ve recently been working with a senior leadership team at Airbus – since working with us they’ve shown the single biggest improvement across the whole company in terms of Gallup engagement scores and are now considered to be one of the Top 5 performing teams in the organisation. At Farscape we combine simple, useable and relevant theory with opportunities for people to experiment in unusual and inspiring environments in order to create opportunities for learning and change. It’s about creating the right balance, at the right time, with some challenge and pressure – to get the results that you need. The ‘so what’ of training is really important. If there isn’t a solid reason for doing something and if it doesn’t achieve your outcomes, we won’t do it. The follow up is a vital part of any programme in order to embed learning and change. We offer a robust system of support, coaching and follow up to make sure that your results stick. We always ask people to commit to personal action plans that are simple and focused on incremental behavioural change that is measureable. We strive to build long lasting relationships based on open and honest communication and feedback so that we can work in partnership with you to deliver the results that you need.

ABOUT RUTH MOODY
Why do so many people still believe that women aren\'t as effective at work when they return after having a baby? Sadly this belief often gets in the way of bright, ambitious women returning to work successfully. It even influences women’s own beliefs about going back to work and whether they can successfully balance being a mother and being a professional working woman. As a qualified, experienced executive coach, I understand how to hold a space for people to work through challenges and issues and to support people as they redefine what and who they want to be in life and at work. As a Mum to two small boys I also have lived experience of coming back to work and facing the sometimes complicated cocktail of guilt, ambition, lack of confidence and overwhelm, all with the added complexity of new time pressures. I work for organisations who want to support their women who are returning to work after a break away – either due to maternity leave or a longer career break – to help them navigate this transition and once again become the bright, ambitious, successful people they always were at work. Alongside coaching women I also run Farscape Development, a People Development Consultancy. The work that we do at Farscape is all about helping people to thrive rather than just survive. I believe that people’s behaviours are choices they make. And sometimes they need help to recognise and understand that their choices often have a massive impact on the people they work with. I work as a coach and facilitator to help leaders make better choices. Because, when people make better choices, they are always more effective at work, deliver better results and have a more positive impact on the people whom they lead and influence. Working with people, both one-to-one and in teams, I help raise their consciousness about how their personality, values and emotions all impact on their behaviours. I choose locations that support this personal inquiry and create a safe psychological space for people to work in. I challenge and am curious in order to help people broaden the range of choices that they have in any given situation. I pay attention to the invisible links and ties that exist in teams and organisations, and I help people and teams to identify how they can be more effective at work and deliver the results that are needed.
