I am experienced in providing due diligence in order to identify potential tax exposures arising from mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for the clients that I serve. I have gained insight working for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance’s Office of Counsel focusing on corporate tax controversies and Big 4 experience. Specifically, I worked with client companies on the buy or sell side performing SALT due diligence and research dealing with state and local income/franchise tax and indirect taxes (e.g, employment tax, sales and use tax, credits and incentives, property tax, and abandoned/unclaimed property). Additionally, while working in the Albany Law Tax Clinic, I worked with clients face to face and represented them to negotiate state and/or IRS tax controversies. Due to earning both a JD (focused on tax) and an MBA (focused on accounting and finance), I have a unique perspective in both the legalistic and business implications of tax and corporate transactions. Additionally, I am experienced in consulting and controversy work relating to state and local income/franchise, indirect taxes, transfer taxes and international transactional taxes. Such experience includes state tax income and indirect tax audit defenses, reverse income and indirect tax audits, sales taxability studies, industry-specific taxes, and similar taxes- Attorney, Licensed in New York - Member of New York Bar Association (NYSBA) & American Bar Association (ABA) Personality Type: ESTJ
