PMI-DVC has over 2,800 project management members across the Greater Philadelphia Area, South Jersey, Delaware and Eastern Shore Maryland. Its diverse membership consists of several hundred organizations and a wide variety of industries. As a leader in the profession, PMI-DVC promotes education and knowledge sharing, including supporting project management professionals in their certification efforts, as well as networking opportunities and community outreach efforts.The chapter provides a variety of educational and networking opportunities for its members each month, and staggers the locations of its events in an effort to add convenience for its members. There are monthly dinner meetings that feature a speaker on a current ‘hot’ project management topic, as well as breakfast networking meetings, and professional development days. Being an all-volunteer organization, there are many opportunities for our members to become engaged in activities that help them to ‘give back’ to the project management profession. During my term of office, I significantly grew the chapter\'s project management and training program by expanding the number of partnerships that we had with local universities. The chapter is unique in that it develops and prints all training materials for its Introduction to Project Management and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Preparation classes. Managing an all-volunteer organization has its challenges, but also its rewards. I developed close personal and professional relationships with the officers of the PMI-DVC chapter, as well as other chapter officers from around the world. Since our chapter is located near PMI’s Global Operations Center in Newtown Square, PA, we also maintain an excellent working relationship with key PMI executives, who speak at our annual PMI Certification Information event. Most importantly, I met many professional project managers who shared my passion for the project management profession!

ABOUT RUTH ANNE GUERRERO
I am an expert consultant in project, program and portfolio management, specializing in the implementation and reengineering of PMOs. I have a proven track record of improving project management capabilities, transforming organizations, and implementing significant change across diverse industries (property and casualty insurance, healthcare, utility (electric, gas, cable), and financial services) and markets. As Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of TD Bank’s US Project Management Office, I supported over 750 project managers and business analysts working on the $400 million US Project Portfolio. I was responsible for the optimization and proper utilization of the project management methodologies, processes, tools (including Clarity), and policies. My PMO\'s focus on aligning projects with strategic goals was highlighted in a white paper published by the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2013. As the Vice President of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office for AmeriHealth Caritas, I was responsible for the diverse enterprise-wide corporate portfolio of projects, including new business activations, adherence to regulatory changes, business process improvement, software application development, and hardware/infrastructure installations and upgrades. I developed a project management life cycle, and introduced project management tools (including Innotas) to capture, analyze, report, and improve project performance.
