Ruth Chon is a seasoned story producer / video editor. She has worked on notable marketing & publicity campaigns for Disney+\'s “Percy Jackson”, “Descendants”,\"High School Musical the Movie, the Series\", AMC\'s \"MadMen\" and \"Walking Dead\", FOX\'s \"The X-Factor.” Ruth also explores untold stories of the underrepresented, dives into big issues and parses the complexity with a human touch. She took 400+ hours of footage, and crafted the compelling State of Aloha documentary which examines the conflicting perspectives on Hawai’i statehood (reviewed in Variety). Ruth worked on Current TV’s Two Americas which followed the lives of families on opposite ends of the income gap, yet same side of the political spectrum. And when Ad man of the decade, Alex Bogusky conducted an eye opening social experiment to “help” the homeless by advising them on better cardboard signage, Ruth managed the delicate story of genuine altruism versus ego-driven charity in Good Karma $1. With a deep regard for the intricacies of the human experience, Ruth gravitates towards unconventional subject matter. Other unscripted credits include \"The Glades Project\", a documentary about the transgender community of Honolulu in the 80s,\"Octavia\", which follows a black transgender homeless woman; Entrances & Exits, which documents 2 lives, a terminally ill cancer patient and a pregnant woman. Her work has won awards and been reviewed favorably in Variety magazine.
