I qualified as a Solicitor into Commercial Property in 2008 working in high street firms, which provided a grounding in most areas of property law from development through to adverse possession and landlord and tenant work.During the pandemic, a nudge in the right direction meant that I used that experience to work as a consultant solicitor.I then came to a crossroads after moving back to Norfolk and decided to see how different the office environment and employment was post-pandemic, thankfully, it turns out, very different! Most of the things I have struggled with over the years while working in an office environment, such as presenteeism, are no longer an issue.I enjoy getting to know my clients, their businesses and their concerns with the particular transaction I am working with them on. This enables me to offer the best advice for my clients.During my years in practice, I have also pursued and developed a specialism in the niche area of Leasehold Enfranchisement and Lease Extensions. I help clients with their lease extensions and purchases of their freeholds. Clients often come to me after discovering that their flat cannot be sold or remortgaged so I discuss with them their options to extend their lease and we come up with the best solution for them. I also work with Landlords when they wish to sell their freeholds subject to residential leases or they have received a notice from their tenants who wish to extend their lease or purchase their freeholds.
