An experienced surety & fidelity risk manager/credit professional with marketing, sales, underwriting, and management experience. 19 years as a generalist handling contract, commercial and fidelity. I committed to the commercial side starting in 2016. I have experience handling surety programs up to $50 million. The core of my experience is handling small to medium sized accounts. Oversaw three and half years (2007-10) of back to back re-organizations as a result of two major corporate acquisitions (OCG & Safeco) and departure of entire office staff for a competitor (before I took the job). I have consolidated two large surety offices while maintaining market share, implemented new corporate operating models, and managed a credit based business through a global credit crisis while maintaining underwriting discipline and low single digit loss ratios. In 2016, I consolidated the commercial operations from three midwest territories and relocated to Cincinnati to run this new region producing growth and profitability each of the first five years. In May of 2021, I took over the entire Midwest creating the largest region in the country for our unit stretching from Minnesota to Ohio.A track record of taking territorities I have never worked with zero market knowledge or contacts and quickly building relationships, business opportunities, profitable growth, and general goodwill within a customer base, while competing successfully against entrenched competition.A 24 year field underwriting career where I have achieved profitable growth resulting in above average PTOI, low combined ratios, and single digit loss ratios in both the Southeast and Midwest.
