ABOUT RUSSELL SCHMIDT

My focus is taking products from zero to one, or one to 100. I enjoy transforming ideas and prototypes into mature products that customers love.I have years of experience leading cross-functional teams, creating great user experiences at the intersection of the digital and physical worlds. My expertise spans the full product lifecycle, from identifying significant opportunities and driving product vision to executing strategies and roadmaps in alignment with broader organizational goals. In my current role at InCharge Energy, I\'m developing solutions for electrifying and managing charging for commercial fleets. This position has honed my skills in navigating complex ecosystems and building zero-to-one products in a rapidly evolving industry. I have overseen the launch of a commercial GraphQL API, apps for drivers, apps for site inspectors, a white-label Charge Management System product, and innovative, industry-leading solutions for energy management and fleet managers since joining InCharge.Previously as a Product Owner for EVgo, I led the development of native iOS and Android apps for drivers. My approach involved extensive user research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder engagement to create a compelling product vision and strategy. I drove the product development process by writing user stories, conducting sprint ceremonies, forecasting delivery dates, and leveraging data-driven insights through A/B testing and user research. At Synacor, I managed the AT & T Start news aggregator web portal and native Android app, growing the app to unique downloads and tripling ARPU. Despite challenges in the distribution channel, I maintained $40M in ARR for the web portal with 3 million daily unique users.Prior to becoming a Product Manager, I was CEO of a network and telecom business for ten years. This entrepreneurial background provided early experience identifying market opportunities, generating strategy, and executing amidst uncertainty. I excel at:• Creating a product vision, strategies, and roadmaps• Implementing a user-centric approach to building products. • Generating consensus amongst stakeholders.• Bringing focus to teams faced with myriad opportunities.• Incorporating data, usability studies, and market analysis into our process.• Utilizing a metrics-based approach to establish success and a foundation for iteration.• Thriving in environments where the rules are still being written.
