ABOUT RUSSELL TRAN

I’m a senior at Northeastern University studying Mechanical Engineering and Physics. I’ve always been fascinated by how things work—whether it’s a physical system or a deeper law of nature—and that curiosity has pushed me toward a path where I can explore both.What I enjoy most is working on hands-on projects. There’s something really rewarding about being able to design, build, and test something from start to finish. I like getting my hands dirty, figuring things out as I go, and thinking critically when things don’t work the first time. I take pride in being able to approach problems with a thoughtful, practical mindset and learning through doing.Through co-op and internship experiences at companies like Sublime Systems, Precision Gear, and Wayfair, I’ve worked on everything from sustainable cement processing and custom mechanical systems to high-tolerance component design and IT infrastructure. My strengths lie in CAD modeling (SOLIDWORKS, Inventor), process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration—whether I’m prototyping in the lab, analyzing failures on the production floor, or supporting systems engineering teams. I’m always looking to take on challenging, impactful projects that let me push boundaries and keep learning.
