ABOUT RUSSELL MEGONIGAL
I began my career leading on-the-ground deployment of enterprise systems—managing installations of point-of-sale platforms across restaurants and hospitality environments. That early experience gave me a deep appreciation for how technology performs in the real world, where reliability, usability, and operational impact matter most. From there, I moved into customer support and operations leadership, overseeing large-scale install bases and advanced technical support teams. Working closely with customers and engineering teams, I developed a strong understanding of how complex systems evolve—and where they break. I transitioned into product management at PAR Technology, where I spent nearly a decade building enterprise software and hardware solutions. During this time, I led large-scale deployments—including a nationwide rollout of a food safety platform across all U.S. Walmart locations—further deepening my experience in delivering systems at scale. At HID Global, I expanded into identity-adjacent products, managing global biometric hardware portfolios and driving product strategy across diverse industries and government customers. Today, as Director of Product Management at Yubico, I focus on modern authentication—helping organizations transition to passwordless, phishing-resistant security through passkeys, FIDO2, and hardware-backed identity.
