EBS was founded by Russell Vandevelde and Jim Foyt in 1998. The firm specializes in three areas. First, EBS assists companies with the placement of institutionally priced Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI/BOLI) which is purchased as an alternative asset to other securities on its balance sheet. Second, it assists companies with the design, implementation and on going service of Non Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans (NQDC Plans). Third, EBS works with executives on their personal and estate planning. Having spoken at numerous industry events, Russell is a nationally known expert in the product design and implementation of BOLI and COLI programs. Russell has worked as a specialist since 1986 covering all 50 states. In addition to BOLI/COLI consulting, Russell also assists companies with their development and funding of NQDC Plans. Prior to starting EBS in 1998, Russell worked as a Field Director with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and remains a Financial Representative with NM today.
