I work with an amazing team of talented people as a manufacturing engineer. We run one of the largest fleets of HP MJF printers in the world. Keeping all our equipment maintained and in top quality working order is a must and challenging task in a demanding environment. Our team is talented when it comes to keeping our plant running and there is no problem we can’t solve. We collectively strive for top tier part quality and always look for process improvements. I really enjoy continuous improvement projects because they are rewarding. I like to design, create and implement solutions for various manufacturing needs. The scope of projects can vary from a few hours or days to months. I have experienced a rewarding succession on projects where the work required oscillates between designing, physically bringing it to life and iterating as required (if required, love getting it right the first time ). An example of a longer project that I championed that went relatively smoothly is the BUL T-700. A custom pneumatic build unit lifting machine for our service technicians. Completing the project in phases was very helpful to the design process. Many problems were solved as the project was developed tested and released for use. The lift is in active use and enjoyed by the service technician team.Another project I am currently design lead on is an system that will automate a large portion of our black dye finishing process. This project is more complicated because of the physical nuance of the process requirements. The material handling and scale of the project has also posed is own set of challenges when constructing, testing and making or implementing changes. The Heating elements, tanks, valves, lines, pumps, sensors, electromagnets, and microcontrollers are some areas of problem solving required. This project has gone less smooth but gains are made daily and we will persevere. Can’t wait to share!
