I like data and interesting problems. I love to apply techniques from information visualization, social network analysis, and machine learning to answer useful questions. I\'m an author of and expert in the Experience API, an open standard for recording learning-related data.As CTO of an early stage startup, I managed devops, supervised developers, fixed bugs, connected with the community, and made technical decisions to support and drive our scaling.I led the rebuild of a substantial cowboy-coded app to be modular with automated tests, drove a major pivot to the product that made us most of our revenue, and was daily thankful for automated configuration management.Speaking/Presentation Experience (a selection):12th Sanken International Symposium(materials/nanotechnology/industrial researchconference) at Osaka University, Japan.
