About Russell Canino

In 1987 he took on Las Vegas where he taught at the Osmond’s Performance Academy teaching tap and jazz dance. In 1989 he went to L.A. and danced for Princess Cruises, back in Las Vegas he worked with the University of Nevada Las Vegas for 3 years assisting choreographer Jackie Jaeger and dancing in “Kiss me Kate, Oklahoma, and Best little whorehouse in Texas”. He worked closely with teacher and choreographer Donna Washington on several shows for Penny France Productions throughout Las Vegas and Nevada. His talents gave him the opportunity to study with tap legend Henry LeTang, he worked as a protégé for 10 years in Las Vegas, within that time he worked on several projects with Mr. LeTang in Las Vegas, Colorado and L.A. assisting him with staging, technical direction and production. Henry LeTang has endorsed Russell Canino with the right to teach the LeTang method as well as given him the ability to use the Le Tang choreography. Russells\' talent gave him the opportunity to study and work with vocal teacher and coach Kenneth Kamal Scott from New York and actor/coach Bill Collins from Los Angeles.While in Las Vegas Russell appeared in several Industry Videos with James Coburn and had the opportunity to work on the movie “Indecent proposal” with Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson. He also did voiceovers and was a dancer for the Pointer Sisters and Billy Vera and Beaters.Russell also was a lead dancer for the Country Star Café where he worked with many of country music’s royalty such as Reba Macintyre, Vince Gill, and Tracy Lawrence. Russell went on to start producing and doing choreography, he produced a series of shows in Denver in which he stared and did the tap and swing choreography. In Russ moved back to Denver where he resides and created the tap program at Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities as well as teaches at studio’s around the Denver area. In 2008 Russ won Entertainer of the year at the Andiamo Primo awards in Colorado.
