About Rupsha Chaudhuri

I have independently handled different projects as PhD student and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. During my PhD I have worked in two different research areas comprising of four projects. I have gained experience in synthesis of substituted polyaromatic hydrocarbons. Major part of my PhD includes synthesis of functionalized carbo- and heterocycles via transition metal catalysis. In my project on ‘Gold-Catalyzed Intramolecular [3+2] Cycloadditions’ I developed a new synthetic route for the synthesis of substituted Fluorenes. In my another project on ‘A 1,3-Carbonyl Shift in the Platinum-catalyzed Aromatization of 2-Epoxy-1-(methoxyalk-2-ynyl)benzenes’ I introduced a new remarkable 1,3-carbonyl shift. Because of my hardwork and ability to handle different projects single handedly, Prof. Liu kept me as a postdoctoral research associate after my PhD. During this period I was involved in many projects. In my project on‘Gold-catalyzed Oxidative Cyclizations’ I developed a new methodology towards the synthesis of Highly Substituted 2-Hydroxyindanones. During this whole tenure I grabbed nine publications in well renowned scientific journals. I was first author in five of them. After that I am working on modification of backbone of Amino Acids using Fischer Carbenes in Prof. Kazmaier’s group as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow.My main objective is to obtain a suitable position in a world leading chemical company, that can best utilize my skills and experience in the field of Chemistry.Specialties:Synthetic organic chemistry, New methodology, Metal catalysis, Amino acid backbone modification.
