ABOUT RUPSHA BHATTACHARYYA
ALL OPINIONS, COMMENTS AND POSTS ARE PERSONAL IDEAS AND DO NOT REFLECT THOSE OF MY EMPLOYERS OR ORGANIZATIONS I AM AFFILIATED TO OR ASSOCIATED WITH🧿 Experience: A chemical engineer by training, I have over 14 years\' experience in chemical process design and engineering for the nuclear energy domain, renewable and sustainable energy systems and economic analysis, hydrogen energy systems, hybrid energy systems and nuclear cogeneration projects for desalination and hydrogen production among non-electric applications of nuclear power.🧿 Major skills: Process and energy system design (flowsheet development, basic engineering, equipment design, costing, datasheets, procurement), thermodynamic and techno-commercial optimization, modeling and simulation and bench scale experimental work, statistical techniques, research project formulation and project stewardship, plant data analysis and scientific/technical writing (95 publications so far). I like writing my own codes for all the analytical and data driven modeling work I do.🧿 Current interests: Sustainability, climate action, energy transition, energy economics and finance, green economy and finance and the business and management aspects of engineering innovation and deployment of technology at scale, particularly the clean energy technologies, statistical techniques in energy studies and process industries.🧿 Academic pursuits: Completed PhD program in applied systems analysis, with the thesis work on \"A quantitative assessment of the role of nuclear power reactors in a low carbon energy mix\" in March 2025🧿 Other interests: Foreign languages like Spanish, German and Arabic, communication and outreach programs on clean energy, energy transition, nuclear power, decarbonizing, sustainability and climate action 🧿 HR: Engaged in recruitment and training of chemical engineers in our organization since 2016 and would like to explore HR development, analytics, teaching and training roles further. 🧿 Would like to collaborate with professionals in similar fields. Looking for more opportunities to contribute individually to the sustainable, nuclear and hydrogen energy domains (part time/volunteer or pro-bono work/remote work/consulting/research collaboration/webinar and podcast presentations included)
