ABOUT RUPA MOOKER

I am an employment lawyer with over 20 years\' experience and a strong advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in all workplaces but particularly in the legal profession. My role as Director of People & Development for 7 years at a Scottish law firm ignited a particular interest in mental health and wellbeing, increasing representation of individuals from ethnically diverse backgrounds, and improving socio-economic diversity within workplaces. My role in the Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging team (UK/EMEA/US) at Ashurst involves creating an environment, both locally and globally, that is welcoming, inclusive and respectful of all backgrounds and perspectives, always supporting people to be at their best. I am a member of the Scottish Ethnic Minorities Lawyer’s Association (SEMLA) Committee, the Scotland National Advisory committee for Action for Children, the BBC Scottish Advisory Committee on Religion & Ethics and the Glasgow 2026 EDI & Engagement Committee (Commonwealth Games).I am also a BBC Scotland contributor (tv & radio), an award winning radio presenter (Female presenter of the Year at the UK Community Radio Awards 2022), speaker and events host. I also volunteer at my local Gurdwara, advising young people on employability and career matters.
