About Rupam Acharyya

I am a Post Doctoral researcher in the University at Buffalo where I work on fraud detection in online marketplace network using network science and machine learning. This project is funded by J.P.Morgan Chase. I completed my PhD in the computer science from the University of Rochester, NY. For my PhD thesis I have worked on designing efficient algorithms for counting substructures in a graph. Over the past year, I have also worked on various ML/AI projects and discovered the joy of using my theoretical expertise in real-data based applications. I have explored a wide variety of topics ranging from Fairness in AI, Mental Health Prediction from Web Data to Neural Network Pruning, some which have been accepted to renowned conferences like etc.During my PhD, I’ve taken on various leadership roles, some of which include mentoring undergraduate students, coordinating community-based cultural events for a non-profit organizations, actively participating in PhD admission committee etc.I\'m looking for full-time research scientist, data scientist, software engineer and machine learning engineer/research positions.Technical Skills: PyTorch, PyMC3, Statistical Analysis, Natural Language Processing, BERT fine tuning, Deep Learning Models, Mathematical Optimization, Causal Model, Bayesian Inference, MCMC methods, Variational Inference, Self-exciting Point Process, Autoregressive Models, Hawkes Process, Network science.Programming Languages: Python, C++, Java, Mathematica.
