About Ruimin Z.
I am a Master\'s student at the University of Oregon, where I am pursuing a master\'s degree in computer science. I have a Bachelor\'s degree in mathematics from the University of Washington. My core competencies include data warehousing and software engineering. Previously, I worked as a data engineer at HYPERS, a leading data solution company in China, where I designed and implemented a logic-based report generation system that processed and aggregated extensive datasets, enabling data-driven marketing decisions. I also developed a cron job to send daily reports with highlighted data changes to administrators for system health check summary. I used a diverse technical arsenal encompassing Scala programming language, Spark for offline data processing, Shell scripting, AWS, YARN cluster management, Hadoop tools for data warehousing, and Jenkins for CI/CD. As a teaching assistant, I lead online live coding sessions and conduct weekly lab sessions, providing guidance to students in Python and fostering an effective learning experience. I am also an XRP Ledger Campus Ambassador, where I organized an event to promote blockchain and cryptocurrency awareness within the campus and facilitated a connection between Ripple and the Computer Science Career Seminar in my department. I am passionate about applying my data engineering and software engineering skills to create innovative solutions.
