About Richard Ruichong Xu

I am keen on Law, Philosophy, Politics, History, and Economics, and I am a published author of two books:(\"A Brief Talk About the Law\", 2023), and Principles of a Normative Constitution (2025). In my latest book-and first written in English-Principles of a Normative Constitution, I propounded my account of the state\'s legitimacy based on promoting human flourishing and explored principles by which a good constitution should be designed, while including a moderate comparative study of the constitutional systems of different countries, notably the People\'s Republic of China, the United States, the Russian Federation, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the United Kingdom. Here are my current primary areas of interests:Law: Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law (theories and practice of constitutionalism, comparative constitutional law and constitutionalism studies focusing on the People\'s Republic of China (PRC), the United States, Germany, and Russia), Criminal Law (theories, and comparative studies primarily focusing on the PRC and Germany), Judicial Theories (primarily focusing on judicial independence and interpretations to the law), Judicial Reform of the PRC, International LawPhilosophy: Political Philosophy, Ethics, Logic, EpistemologyPolitics: Modern political thought, International relations concerning China, Russia, and the USHistory: History of Qing Dynasty China, History of the Republic of China from 1912 to 1949, History of the PRC since 1949, History of the Soviet Union, World War II.Economics: Macroeconomics, International Economics and Policies, Money and Banking
