ABOUT RUGGIERO LOVREGLIO
I am a Full Professor at Massey University (New Zealand) and a Rutherford Discovery Fellow for Royal Society NZ. I am an Associate Editor for Safety Science (Elsevier) and Fire Technology (Springer). I am a part of the Editorial Board of Fire Safety Journal (Elsevier), Virtual Reality (Springer) and Journal of Safety Science and Resilience (Elsevier). I am representing New Zealand From in the ISO/TC 92/SC 4/WG 11 committee in Fire Safety Engineering. My website is ORCID ID: brief summary of my work:Research: My works investigate human behavior in Disasters using Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality and how to improve Safety Training.Teaching: My teaching focuses on BIM and Building Innovation Tools, Fire Engineering (Evacuation and Pedestrian Dynamic) and Research Methods (from statistical testing to regression modelling).Roles: I am an Associate Editor for Safety Science, Fire Technology. I am member of the the ISO/TC 92/SC 4/WG 11 committee and IAFSS. Awards: I am the recipient of the 2020 Massey Research Medal - Early Career and the 2020 College of Science Research Award - Early Career. I have received the 5 under 35 SFPE award in 2022. Outputs: I have published more than 100 journal papers and 50 conference papers and chaptets on Pedestrian and Evacuation Modelling, Evacuee Decision-Making and data analysis (see Consultancy: I am an Evacuation and Fire Safety Consultant delivering multiple services such as Simulations, Reviews and Teaching.
