About Ruchika Agrawal
I’m a full-stack developer with 9 years of experience building web and mobile applications that are fast, user-friendly, and scalable. I’ve worked across different industries, from finance and insurance to agriculture and food safety, using tools like React, React Native, TypeScript, Python (FastAPI/Django), and GraphQL.Right now, I’m working at Cargill, helping to turn paper-based audit processes into fully digital web apps. I build intuitive UIs using React with Zustand and Material UI, connect them to FastAPI and GraphQL backends, and make the experience smooth with features like real-time updates (WebSockets) and offline support. On the backend, I enjoy working with PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and containerized deployments using Docker and AWS (EKS, RDS, ECR). I also focus a lot on writing clean, testable code with tools like Cypress, Vitest, and Pytest.I like working in collaborative teams, mentoring other developers, and staying hands-on with both frontend and backend. I care about building things that not only work well but also make people’s jobs easier. If you\'re building something interesting, want to exchange ideas, or just connect with another dev, feel free to reach out!

Working on the Qualified Rate Validation (QRV) Portal, a booking-flow validation system that ensures only eligible and signed-in Bonvoy members can book restricted rates such as Explore and Friends & Family. The platform integrates with member profile services, applies validation rules at multiple stages of the reservation process, and helps prevent misuse of special rate programs across Marriott’s digital channels.• Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of the QRV Portal, working closely with business stakeholders to define scope, assess feasibility, estimate effort, and align engineering solutions with functional requirements.• Develop and maintain the frontend application using React.js with TypeScript, integrating with a Next.js middleware layer for routing and redirect logic, and consuming content from Strapi CMS and GraphQL APIs.• Implement frontend interactions against a distributed backend architecture involving Akamai → NGINX → Server-Side App → UXL → domain services (UGI, Mhub, CIAM, etc.), ensuring seamless data flows and error handling across the booking journey.• Work with backend teams to integrate session management via Redis ElastiCache, SSO authentication via PingFed, and real-time GraphQL queries resolved through Apollo Gateway + subgraphs behind Akana API Gateway.• Collaborate with platform, API, and infrastructure teams to support orchestration logic executed in UXL, and ensure proper routing of requests across Akana, OCI Gateway, and downstream systems.• Support event-driven workflows by coordinating Kafka topic publishing for transactional events (e.g, Friends & Family registration), enabling async actions such as email confirmations via Econfo.
