ABOUT RUCHI GUPTA
I am currently Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Clinical Attending at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. I have more than 20 years of experience as a board-certified pediatrician and health researcher and currently serve as the founding director of the Center for Food Allergy & Asthma Research (CFAAR), where I am actively involved in clinical, epidemiological, and community-based research. I strive to improve the lives of children and families through my research and work to find answers and shape policies surrounding pediatric food allergy and asthma. With the help of my research team, we have determined the prevalence of childhood food allergy prevalence in the United states, and have significantly contributed to academic research surrounding the economic impact of food allergy, pediatric management of both food allergy and asthma, decreasing ED visits and hospitalizations, improving the quality of life of children and their caregivers, and implementing community interventions in schools for students with food allergy, asthma, and other health conditions.I am the author of The Food Allergy Experience, Food Without Fear, and Baby\'s Skin Health. I have written and co-authored over 300 peer-reviewed research manuscripts and have been featured on television and print media platforms, including Netflix (Series:\"Rotten\" Episode:\"The Peanut Problem\"), The New York Times, PBS, CNN, NBC Nightly News, and more.
