About Ruby Theodore

As a 1L at Florida International University College of Law, my academic journey is complemented by a deep commitment to community engagement and empowerment. Prior to law school, I completed my undergraduate studies as a Senior at the University of South Florida, where I pursued a Pre-Law track and actively contributed to the Tampa Bay community through various service initiatives. One of my proudest accomplishments is founding the Black Women in Law Organization at USF. This initiative was born from my passion for fostering inclusivity and providing support for Black women on the Pre-Law track. The organization has grown into a vital resource for networking, mentorship, and academic support, aimed at empowering aspiring Black women to navigate the challenges of law school and beyond. Through my leadership, I helped establish a space where Black women in law could connect, share experiences, and access the resources necessary for success. This initiative not only reinforced my commitment to inclusivity but also deepened my resolve to pursue a career in corporate law, where I hope to further contribute to diversity and equity within the legal profession. In summary, my transition from USF to FIU College of Law marks the continuation of my dedication to both academic excellence and meaningful community impact, with a focus on empowering underrepresented groups in the legal field.
